The walking choice comes first
If the group wants to walk on a weekday, start with Butter Brook’s published walking category. For Red Tail, compare the live package price and its included cart and practice access. Neither an old weekend quote nor an evening bargain answers the price of your chosen morning.
Red Tail
Red Tail uses dynamic pricing. Read the price on the live sheet for your date and start time rather than treating an old screenshot as a rate card. The published booking terms include a GPS cart and range use with the round.
Regular reservations open nine days ahead. Preferred Reservations allow earlier booking, up to 300 days out, under separate terms. Cancel at least 20 hours ahead; twilight does not guarantee 18 holes.
Butter Brook
For April 12–October 18, 2026, an 18-hole Monday–Thursday round before 3pm is $65 walking or $90 riding. Friday before 2pm is $120 riding; Saturday and Sunday morning riding rates start at $139 and step down later. Carts are required Friday–Sunday and holidays before 2pm.
Public reservations open seven days ahead. Cancellations need 24 hours of notice by phone; the course does not accept email cancellations. Check the rate attached to your exact start time.
Compare the same start time
Open both sheets for the same date, player count and workable window. Save the totals and cancellation deadlines. The better choice is the day your group can actually make, including the trip to Westford or Devens.
