Phoenix & Scottsdale golf guides
The tournament connection belongs to Stadium
TPC Scottsdale identifies Stadium as the WM Phoenix Open host. If playing the tournament venue is the reason for the trip, make sure the booking says Stadium. “TPC Scottsdale” on a hotel offer or group itinerary is not enough detail.
Champions is also public. It is a separate course, not another name for Stadium and not a nine-hole fallback. Decide whether the tournament connection matters before comparing fees.
Champions has its own course story
TPC describes Champions as a Randy Heckenkemper redesign completed in 2007 on the former Desert Course site. That gives it its own identity within the venue.
A comparison does not need to declare one universally better. One group may value the event venue; another may prefer the available start, price or fit of Champions. Use the group’s priorities and the offer for the actual date.

Check dates around the event carefully
A tournament venue can have operational restrictions around preparation and competition. Check TPC’s current reservation terms and notices for the week you want. Do not assume a public course is available on every date.
Confirm the selected course, group, carts, rental sets and cancellation terms. Photographing a famous hole and completing a round are different expectations to settle before the group pays.
Booking and Carl
Use TPC’s official booking path for both course choices. Carl’s catalog includes their public access information, but the current live adapters do not search TPC inventory. He can help check supported alternatives in the area.
