Presidents is a Fazio-designed 18-hole course about 15 minutes from downtown Boston, and you can usually get a tee time on short notice. It runs $53 to walk on a weekday. There are skyline views on a couple of holes. For a public course this close to the city, that combination is rare.
Presidents Golf Course sits at 357 W Squantum St in North Quincy. George and Tom Fazio redesigned it, and it reopened in 1977 on land that had held golf since the late 1800s. It plays par 70 at 5,750 yards. Short on the card. The city of Quincy runs it as a daily-fee public course, and it books through the TeeItUp system.
The course
Presidents is short and playable, not a championship grind. At 5,750 yards to a par of 70, most golfers can score here. The greens get the best reviews. Players call them fast and true, which is not a given at a municipal course. A round is more about position and putting than raw length off the tee.
A hole or two open up to real views of the Boston skyline across the water. That is the part people remember. The rest of the layout is a solid, walkable city course that gives you a full 18 without much trouble getting on. If you want a test from the tips, this is not that course. If you want a clean round close to home, it delivers.
2026 rates
Presidents lists its rates publicly, which not every muni does. Here is the 2026 sheet.
| Weekday (Mon–Thu) | Weekend & holidays (Fri–Sun) | |
|---|---|---|
| Regular 18 | $53 | $63 |
| Twilight | $36 | $43 |
| Senior | $42 | — |
| 9 holes | $31 (until 2pm) | — |
| Junior | $20 | $25 (after noon) |
Carts run $22 per rider for 18 holes and $11 for 9. The weekday twilight rate of $36 is the value play. So is the $31 weekday 9 if you can get out before 2pm. Season passes are available for regulars through the pro shop.
Booking
Presidents books online through TeeItUp at presidents-golf-course.book.teeitup.com or by phone at (617) 328-3444. Yearly subscribers get their own booking portal and an earlier window than the general public. Because the course sits off the main Boston golf roundups, the tee sheet is often open when the bigger names are full. That is the quiet advantage here.
How it compares
Presidents is one of three golf options in Quincy, and they barely overlap. Granite Linksis the $165–180 premium 18 with the big skyline views. Furnace Brook is the 9-hole city muni that goes members-only on weekend mornings. Presidents is the middle option: a full 18, a real Fazio routing, priced like a muni, with a tee sheet you can actually get on.
For a golfer who plays 10-plus rounds a season and does not want to fight for weekend mornings, Presidents earns a spot in the rotation. It also holds up as one of the closest courses to Boston for anyone south of the city.
Presidents runs two booking portals, and the public window opens later than the subscriber window, so the prime weekend and twilight slots move before most people ever see them. Text Carl your date and window. He watches the TeeItUp sheet, knows when the public times release, and grabs the slot the moment it opens instead of leaving you to refresh the page.
