Tee Time Cancellation Policies at Boston Golf Courses: Who Charges You

Carl's take

Someone drops out, the forecast turns, and suddenly that reserved foursome costs more than you expected. Read the cancellation rule before you pay. The deadline and the way you cancel both matter.

Read the deadline for your reservation

There is no universal 24-hour rule. The course, booking channel and offer determine the deadline and charge. Read the terms on the reservation you are purchasing; marketplace purchases can differ from a direct course booking.

George Wright

Permit holders book five days ahead and the public four days ahead, both at 7am. For Saturday, that means Monday for permit holders and Tuesday for the public; Sunday releases one day later. Cancel at least four hours ahead.

Braintree

All tee times are booked online. The sheet opens at 6pm seven days ahead. Cancel at least 24 hours ahead by telephone or in person; email does not count.

Butter Brook

Public reservations open seven days ahead. Cancellations need 24 hours of notice by phone; the course does not accept email cancellations. Check the rate attached to your exact start time.

Juniper Hill

Public tee times open seven days ahead and cancellations need 12 hours of notice. Juniper Hill offers Riverside and Lakeside as separate 18-hole courses and does not sell memberships.

Red Tail

Regular reservations open nine days ahead. Preferred Reservations allow earlier booking, up to 300 days out, under separate terms. Cancel at least 20 hours ahead; twilight does not guarantee 18 holes.

The Meadow at Peabody

Reservations open five days ahead. A card is required; changes and cancellations need 12 hours of notice. Late no-show fees are $15 per player for nine holes or $30 for 18.

Shaker Hills

Standard public reservations open seven days ahead; the free Shaker Pass gives eight days. The cancellation deadline is 24 hours. An advance booking fee is separate from the green fee.

Save the rule with the confirmation

Keep the confirmation and accepted cancellation method together. If the plan changes, act before the deadline and tell the rest of the group. A late call or a missing player does not automatically remove the charge.
