Scottsdale golf cancellation rules: read the offer before the group pays

Carl's take

One course asks for 48 hours. Another sells prepaid nonrefundable starts. Keep the booking channel and player-reduction rule beside the deadline.

There is no Valley-wide cancellation rule

The deadline belongs to the course, channel and offer you purchased. A public rate, a prepaid promotion and a package can come with different conditions. Save the terms on the confirmation instead of relying on a general travel article.

For the organizer, reducing four players to three can be as important as canceling the whole round. Ask about that separately. A refund request after the deadline does not become easier because only one person dropped out.

Two clubs publish 48-hour requirements

We-Ko-Pa asks for at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellation or reducing player count. Talking Stick also publishes 48 hours for cancellations or amendments. Both warn about charges for unused reserved spots.

Read the actual reservation anyway. This guide records the operator policy checked October 6; it does not replace the terms of a particular prepaid offer.

Prepaid can mean final

McCormick Ranch’s public booking engine describes prepaid starts as noncancellable and nonrefundable, with modification subject to availability. That is a different decision from holding a reservation with a credit card.

Do not book speculative starts for a group that has not agreed on dates. A cheaper final purchase can cost more than a flexible one if the itinerary changes.

Give the group one clear cutoff

Share the course’s deadline in Arizona local time, the required method for changing the reservation and who will do it. Ask for player confirmations before that deadline.

Carl sends booking links; he does not cancel the reservation for you. Complete changes through the channel the operator requires and keep the confirmation that the change went through.
