Three starts is only the arithmetic
Twelve golfers fit into three foursomes, but the difficult part is securing three suitable starts together. A sheet with twelve scattered places is not the same thing. Put the layout, date, round length, departure window and public-rate eligibility in the request. If the group is visiting, do not build the plan around a resident price.
Carl searches for nearby observed starts and assigns players to each one. The three starts stay on the same layout, round and payment label. It does not join Cholla and Saguaro into one block because both belong to We-Ko-Pa, or blend pay-now and pay-later offers into a fictitious group package.
Use the published 12-plus routes
We-Ko-Pa has a dedicated process for groups of 12 or more. Grayhawk also publishes a group-golf offering starting at 12. Quintero directs reservations of 12 or more to a separate course contact. Those are useful reasons to involve the operator while comparing an online block.
A group inquiry is not a claim that the price will be lower. Ask for the all-in quote, what is included, the deposit, final-headcount deadline and cancellation exposure. Compare that answer with the real public checkout terms for the date, not a remembered fee from someone’s last trip.
One organizer, one clear commitment
Before any card is charged, collect a firm headcount and each golfer’s willingness to accept the terms. Tell the group whether a late dropout leaves the organizer responsible. Keep rental-set requests and non-golfing guests visible; neither is automatically included in twelve green fees.
If you need all starts secured in one arrangement, say that to the group team. Carl’s online search observes inventory; it cannot perform an atomic purchase of three separate starts. A shared link makes the comparison easier, but it does not prevent another golfer from booking while your group is deciding.
A useful request beats a vague package inquiry
Send the shop a short brief: twelve confirmed golfers, two acceptable dates if flexible, the named layout or acceptable alternatives, a start window, cart preference and fee cap. Ask whether they can confirm the whole block and provide written terms. You do not need to assign every foursome to ask that question.
Once the starts are confirmed, arrange player groups around the actual times. If the quote changes the layout or window, send that revision back to the group before accepting it. The decision everyone approved should match the round everyone arrives to play.
