Scottsdale golf for eight: two starts, one plan

Carl's take

Stop asking eight people to pick a course in eight separate chats. Set one budget and time window, then look for two eligible starts on the same layout.

Decide the thing everyone has to agree on

Eight golfers need a decision they can answer without opening a spreadsheet. Put the date, area, earliest acceptable start and fee cap in one message. Ask for a yes or no. Save the discussion about lunch until you have a realistic golf plan. If someone is still waiting on flights, count them as unconfirmed rather than quietly paying for their place.

Choose the fee cap per golfer, with carts and rental clubs discussed separately. An advertised walking fee is a poor budget for a group that wants to ride. A pay-now price also asks more of the organizer than a pay-later price. Agree on who will put down a card before the first checkout screen appears.

Two foursomes is a search requirement

For eight, the clean starting point is four plus four at two nearby times. Four places at one start and two at the next do not fit the group, even if the sheet looks busy. Alternative resident, public or payment rates at one time are not extra tee times. Keep all eight on the same named layout and round length.

Carl checks supported public sheets and returns the assigned golfers at each start. It uses a maximum gap of 15 minutes unless the request gives a supported different gap. That describes nearby observed online starts, not proof that the full tee sheet has no group between you. The course can settle that question.

Give everyone the same shortlist

Share the checked options rather than a screenshot with the date cropped off. The Carl link shows the round date, course-local starts, fees, assignments and check time. It expires after 24 hours. Nobody has a reservation merely because they can open the link; ask for a fresh check before the organizer pays.

Compare at most a few complete options. A cheaper course with one suitable start does not beat an option that fits all eight. If one fee is missing, the group total is unknown. Ask the course for the missing number instead of dividing a partial total by eight.

Finish the booking, then make the pairings

Quintero publishes online booking for one to four players and a separate contact for 12 or more. Eight therefore still means multiple starts, each subject to its booking rules. Silverado also has an official group-events inquiry route if coordinating the whole block is easier through the shop.

Confirm all starts, public eligibility, payment and cancellation terms with the course. One completed booking cannot protect the second start. Once the course has confirmed the round, use the outing planner to arrange the two foursomes and send the finished tee sheet. Do not print an invented interval and treat it as a reservation.

Build and share your group’s tee-time request. Carl checks supported sheets; the planner itself does not establish availability.

Frequently asked questions

How many tee times do eight golfers need?

At least two ordinary starts with four eligible places each. If those full starts are unavailable, the course may offer another arrangement; Carl does not invent or hold it.

Can I share two tee-time options before booking?

Yes. Carl can return an expiring shared snapshot from a supported group search. It shows what was checked, not a reservation. Recheck and confirm the whole block before paying.
