What Trull Brook is
Trull Brook is a public 18 at 170 River Road in Tewksbury, about 30 minutes up I-93 from Boston. Geoffrey Cornish designed it and it opened in 1963. It plays par 72 at roughly 6,345 yards to a 69.8 rating and a slope of 123 on bent grass greens. The northern edge of the property runs along the Merrimack River, and several tees, greens, and fairways look out over the water. Golfers on Hole19 rate it 4.3.
The greens are the story in reviews. GolfPass reviewers call them fantastic and fast, sometimes too fast, with complaints about pin positions on the more sloped surfaces. At 6,345 yards this is not a bomber's course. It rewards a player who can putt on quick, tilted greens and keep the ball under the hole.

The weekend cart rule
Carts are required Friday through Sunday and holidays before 2pm. There is no walking rate in those windows, full stop. The walking golfer's move is either a Monday through Thursday round at $50, or a weekend time after 2pm when the requirement lifts and twilight pricing kicks in. How booking works
Trull Brook runs on Club Caddie. You book through the customer portal linked from trullbrook.com, or call the golf shop at (978) 851-6731. The portal requires an account before it shows you the tee sheet, which adds a signup step GolfNow users won't expect. Weekend mornings open at 5:30am in season and the early slots go first because the cart fleet caps how many groups get out.
The property also runs a tennis center, a grille room, and a GolfZon simulator lounge it calls the Simzon, so the tee sheet is not the whole business. Course hours are 6am to dusk on weekdays and 5:30am to dusk on weekends, weather permitting.
Where it fits
Within the valley, Trull Brook is the closest course to Boston and the cheapest weekday walk. Merrimack Valley Golf Club in Methuen is $55, Hickory Hill is $56, and Far Corner is $56.
